Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E) Wiring Regulations:There are many rules and regulations in the UK that govern the installation and electrical wiring including equipotential earth bonding, this in particular is very relevant in the plumbing world. It can be very easy to dismiss these rules, but, if you consider for a second, you may have a plumbing problem that requires the replacement of copper pipe with a plastic pipe, or you use a plastic fitting for a supply for a new dishwasher. In these types of cases there would be a lack of bonding as the pipework is now plastic and not metal. Therefore, the earth bonding continuity must be maintained with an earth bonding cable and metal earth clamps to link the break in the pipework, so that the integrity is maintained. A Kentish Town Plumber is qualified and is familiar with all the current rules.

Plumbing and Building Law:
There are strict bye-laws that govern all plumbing installation and repair work that is carried out in the United Kingdom, whether in a home or any other building, these regulations are there to guarantee that we are all protected and hopefully kept safe. For instance, particular valves to prevent siphoning if the head of the shower reaches below the bath top. Some work, however must be inspected and unless it is only a minor job this work really has to be carried by a professionally qualified service like Kentish Town Plumbers who know and work within the rules and regulations.

Example:
A new sink is installed or a piece of pipe is changed, so, it is vital to make sure that all the plumbing is earth bonded to protect against electric shock in case it comes into contact with a live electric current. The I.E.E. Wiring Regulations do not stop there. There are examples where an electrical supply is required for the operation of a plumbing appliance i.e. dishwashers or power showers. You can always call a professional plumbing service if you are not sure.
